The Morrison DNA Project was started by the CMSNA (Clan Morrison Society of North America) in 2005.
You can read about the project below (text taken from the CMSNA website) or visit the official project findins site.
What can we learn from the project?
Morrisons who share the same paternal ancestry will also share the same DNA. Comparing a family’s DNA with others in the project will show which other Morrisons are in the same extended family.
What do these matches tell us?
If one or more of the matches has a documented link with a location in Scotland, then a participant will learn the area in Scotland that his family was from.
What have we learned about where Morrisons lived in Scotland so far?
The included map shows where some of the groups in the project probably originated. Most of the groups have documented connections to the locations shown, but some are based on near DNA matches with other region-specific surnames.
