Clan Morrison Stall at Bundanoon 2011

As some of you know, we were invited to participate as a Clan in the 2011 Bundanoon Highland Games on April 2nd (here’s a link to their website) which is the biggest of it’s kind in Australia I am lead to believe.

Clan Morrison has so far never had a presence there. I had moderate response to the call for help with organising a table / stall in the ‘Clans Section’ of the festival.

I will need volunteers to dedicate at least an hour or two each to sitting behind the table. This is quite a social event and manning the stall will simply involve chatting with other visitors to the festivals and reminiscing over Morrison history etc.

It would also be nice to have some fliers printed up explaining about our goal to resurrect the official Clan Morrison Society of Australia and asking people to register their interest on the Clan Morrison Australia site (here) so that we can keep everyone’s contact details together.

A few of you mentioned you would be willing to donate (probably just $5 or $10) towards printing costs.

Another option would be to actually walk in the parade (many Clans are already represented here). We would need some sort of banner or sign and should be wearing one of the Morrison tartans I imagine.

If any of this sounds like something people would like to help with, I certainly can’t do it all on my own. My wife and I have a 2 month old baby and I work full time :)

Any help would be appreciated. Just reply with a comment (below) if you are interested or use the contact form.

The Bundanoon Highland Games in the NSW central highlands was a success with excellent weather and a huge turnout.

We recommend to anyone in the area who is interested in Scottish culture or clan history to visit the games next year.

The event is family (and even dog) friendly.
